dc.description.abstractUsing artificial intelligence (AI) for English education is both beneficial and detrimental in several ways. A vast majority of previous related studies demonstrated that using AI could help English as a foreign language (EFL) learners nurture their English knowledge and skills, hence becoming more autonomous and possessing good learning traits. The present study employed an online questionnaire to investigate the impact of AI on English self-study process among 270 first-year undergraduates at Nguyen Tat Thanh University during the second semester of 2024-2025 academic year. SPSS (Version 27.0) was used to analyze the data. The results indicated that AI implementation can facilitate the students’ English self-and allow many implications for local EFL teaching and learning.
