Papain demonstrated enzymatic activity (0.0749 U/mg) and was incorporated into HPMC-based hydrogels using a microwave-assisted crosslinking method. The resulting films had a thickness of 0.8 mm, moisture content of 3.83%, and showed a sustained papain release of 2.67% to 5.10% over 60 minutes. FTIR and FESEM analyses confirmed the successful incorporation and distribution of papain within the films. These findings highlight the potential of papain-loaded hydrogels for controlled drug release and enhanced wound healing applications.enCarica papaya L.Papain ExtractedHydrogelWound healingStudy hydrogel containing papain extracted from Carica papaya L. for wound healing : Graduation ThesisThesis
